The poll tax was a community tax that everyone had to pay regardless of their income, it was first run in Scotland as a trail basis a year before it was run for the rest of the country. It was unpopular in Scotland because it was the first place it was ran, before the rich would be taxed more than the poor to make it fairer, but because of Margrets traditional additude she thought the rich shouldn't be punished for because rich and having a high income. The tax lead to a lot of riots opposing it and more poverty. Social Realism is an international art movement who draw attention to the everyday working class an people living in poverty. Examples f social realism films include This is England, Kidulthood and Fishtank. Conventions of Social Realism films include; location shooting instead of studio, wide shots, humour and seriousness, wider social issues explored and triumph over adversity.
